When you think of an auto parts warehouse, you surely are not thinking of a vast clean building, very well lit, heated by geothermal energy with dozens of red robots that bring thousands of products over hundreds of meters of conveyor belts before being packed and shipped. All this in less than 20 minutes after the order was passed.
Transit fulfillment center is as large as 3 football fields and holds thousands of different products. On the tour, you’ll see firsthand how the items ordered make their way from Transit to our customers. It’s a seamless combination of human effort and advanced technology that allows us to deliver orders promptly and efficiently to customers all across North America.
Transit has always been a forward thinker in terms of equipment to optimize its operations and facilitate the daily life of its teams. During the tour, you’ll also have the opportunity to see our brand new AutoStore robots in action and learn how they streamline a part of our fulfillment process.
These robots not only make the work easier for their human partners by reducing the distance they need to travel and the effort they have to deploy, but they also enhance the shopping experience for our clients by allowing us to store more inventory and process orders more quickly. We did not implement these robots to replace human jobs but to allow us to put our talented individuals on value-added tasks like service and support – where no robot can be as good as a human.
On the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the individuals working to fulfill clients orders. You will have a quick overview of how it feels to be part of the tight-knit Team Transit.
