The Crankshaft Position Sensor is an electronic device that monitors the position and/or rotational speed of the crankshaft. This sensor communicates with the vehicle’s ECU to control ignition timing and fuel injection parameters. Crankshaft Position Sensors work in conjunction with the Camshaft Position Sensor to monitor the position of the valves and pistons. The Crankshaft Position Sensor also measures engine speed in revolutions per minute.
